Before you begin
Mobile video chat uses your browser, camera, microphone, and internet connection together. A readable webpage is only the first part of the setup.
Use your regular mobile browser and keep it updated. Start with Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. If a link opens inside another app, reopen tingochat.com in your browser so you can manage the site's permissions there.
Allow access only when you intend to join a video conversation. Check that a phone case or finger is not covering the lens or microphone. Close other calls or camera apps if they are using the same devices.
Choose a spot with reliable reception before you start. Rest the phone at a comfortable angle and keep it still. Headphones can make listening easier and reduce sound feeding from your speaker back into the microphone.
From browser to conversation
You do not need to make a call just to explore the website. When you are ready, the matching screen is the next stop.
Visit tingochat.com directly in your phone browser. If you arrived through a link inside a social or messaging app, open that address in your regular browser instead. You can read about the experience before deciding to start.
Settle somewhere you can keep the phone steady. Use a connection you trust, uncover the camera and microphone, and choose a volume that lets you hear without broadcasting the conversation to everyone nearby.
Tap Start Video Chat to reach the matching screen. Review the options and any allowance shown there, then choose Start when you are ready. Let the page finish preparing; repeatedly tapping will not help it connect faster.
Respond to camera and microphone requests from the official site. A conversation can begin when a match and connection are available. Keep the page in view, use the available call controls, and end the conversation when you want to stop.
Your browser, your permission
Permission menus belong to your browser and operating system. Their wording can vary by version. You can change the site's choice without granting access to every website.
Open TingoChat in Safari. In the Page Menu, open Website Settings and review Camera and Microphone. Ask lets you decide when the site requests access; a previous Deny choice can prevent video from starting.
After changing a setting, return to the page and respond to the prompt when you are ready. Apple's Safari settings guide explains these choices.
In Chrome, open Settings, then Site settings, and review Camera and Microphone. If the site was blocked, change its permission when you want to use it. Android can also restrict Chrome's access at the app level.
If a site permission is allowed but access still fails, check Chrome's app permissions in Android settings. Google's Chrome permission guide covers both layers.
Already seeing a black screen or missing sound? Follow the camera and microphone troubleshooting guide before starting another match.
Keep the call steady
A phone makes video chat portable, but walking between networks or leaving the browser can interrupt a conversation. Settle in before you say hello.
Use whichever trusted connection is stable where you are sitting. Moving out of Wi-Fi range can change the connection mid-call. If reception is poor, finish the conversation and move to a better spot before trying again.
Keep the browser visible and the phone awake while talking. An incoming call, a locked screen, or another app can interrupt camera or audio access. TingoChat does not promise that a conversation will continue in the background or transfer between devices.
Return to the browser and look at the actual call state. If the connection ended, start again only when ready; there is no promise of reconnecting to the same person. If the phone is uncomfortable to hold or low on charge, take a break first.
Look beyond the screen
A phone camera can show more than your face. Check for mail, identity documents, a work badge, or an address in the background. Consider what nearby people can hear, too.
You can end an uncomfortable interaction and use the product's Block or Report tools when appropriate. A one-on-one format does not prevent the other person from recording. Read the privacy and safety guide before sharing anything personal.
Two separate costs
The phone experience follows the same TingoChat product rules. An available free matching allowance may help you begin; continued use or a paid call may require Coins, VIP benefits, or another in-product option.
Your mobile provider's data and roaming charges are separate. Video uses data in both directions, and usage varies. Review your plan and the current in-product terms rather than assuming every conversation is unlimited. See what free to start means.
A few useful answers
For an overview of the experience on every screen, visit online video chat.
You can open the TingoChat website directly in a mobile browser. This page describes that web experience; it does not require an app-store download. Live video still depends on browser support, camera and microphone permission, your connection, and match availability.
Start with an up-to-date regular browser, such as Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. Opening the site inside another app can behave differently. Device restrictions and browser versions vary, so a page loading successfully does not guarantee that every camera or audio configuration will work.
A working mobile data connection can provide internet access for video chat. Check your data plan and roaming terms first. Video sends and receives data, and usage varies; a free matching allowance does not cover charges from your mobile provider.
Do not rely on it. A browser or operating system can interrupt camera, audio, or network activity when the page is no longer active. Keep the chat visible while talking. If you need to step away, tell the other person and end the call deliberately.
Wait until your chosen connection is stable, then check the state shown on the page. If the call has ended, use the available controls to begin again when ready. Do not assume the previous person will reconnect automatically or repeatedly start new matches to test a connection.
No. An available free matching allowance may let you begin, but continued use or a paid call may require Coins, VIP benefits, or another in-product option. Review the current terms shown in the product. Phone data charges are separate.
